Leadership through Solidarity

Assalamualaikum wbt…

In conjunction with the upcoming AGM for Malaysian Muslim Student Society in Ireland (PPIMI) tomorrow, the for GAZA team, which has been strongly supported by PPIMI would like to higlight a few insights from For GAZA, towards PPIMI, and would love to share it as well as with the rest of us, who got ourselves together in societies and organizations, having maybe differennt objectives, mission and vision, but aiming for the same eternal ends- rahmat(mercy) and redha(blessings) from Allah.

Firstly, the for GAZA team apologize for the lack of ā€˜updatesā€™ and continuing effort from us to create awareness regarding the issues in Palestine this past few days. We permit for ourselves no excuse except to admit humbly to all that human resources and time is the most LIMITED modality we have yet to work on effectively entrepreneur.

We hope that the awareness that must have been building up inside each and every one of us suffice for all of us to always be up for updates, truth and just without waiting to be spoon-fed by anyone, insyaAllah.

Hence we also seekĀ  from all of you and ask of Allah, so that in days to come, this humble effort would be provided with improved leadership, organization and workforce as well as greater support from its core collaborators; PPIMI, KUD, IMAM and FOSIS Ireland. Also, we would like to happily share our joy of having heard from students organizations from other county like Cork and Galway who has been very driven by the recent GAZA siege, answering the ā€˜call from Palestine, from Baitulmaqdisā€™ that has enrapturedĀ  the whole peace-loving citizen of the world, especially the Muslims, who obviously have since creation, sworn to live by salaam (peace).[ we will try and update regarding their event in our weblong insyaAllah]

Alhamdulillah ā€˜ala kullihalā€¦..It looks like the more pressured we are, the stronger our spirit of unity and solidarity. KUDOS to all!

As how diamonds are produced by pressure in the centre of the earth, that is maybe what we are becoming now. Success will come and it is fast approaching. The question now is not when, but how far are we (read: am I) now from that aim and are we (read : am I) now really in the line of withholders of Islam. Read the rest of this entry »

My daughters and I were armed with nothing but love and hope

Gaza doctor’s loss grips Israelis

Dr Izeldeen Abuelaish shared his grief at losing his daughters

By Lucy Ash
BBC World Service

I first met Dr Izeldeen Abuelaish eight years ago when I made a radio documentary about his extraordinary life and work.
A Palestinian obstetrician who specialises in treating infertility, he lives in the Jabaliya camp in the Gaza Strip, but used to work part-time in Israel helping Jewish women to have babies.
He also had a clinic in Gaza , taught medical school students there and arranged for seriously ill Palestinian patients to be treated in Israel .
He put up with the tedious and sometimes humiliating border checks with dignity and patience.
He stayed calm when one of his own Palestinian medical students told him she was “very, very angry” that he was helping Israelis to have children.
“What if these babies grow up to become soldiers who kill our people?” asked the young woman. Read the rest of this entry »
